When I entered the workforce 15 years ago, we women in our 20s were always looking for the perfect outfit that could take us from day to night. If memory serves, this looked a lot like pinstriped suiting with stilettos, which doesn’t seem appropriate for most junior-level employees anywhere my friends or I worked or for happy hour at most of DC’s bars, but the 2000s/2010s were a wild time.

This article suggests that day-to-night dressing is a thing of that past because most offices have relaxed dress codes and trends and/or personalized styles are increasingly acceptable in the workplace now. (And that’s assuming you’re not working from home!) It’s certainly changed for me, but for very different reasons…

I’m back with this series! Last week was cold and rainy, a belated effort from March to prove it had come in like a lion overlapping with April showers, and I was just so unexcited by what I had to wear in response. But now spring is properly and firmly here and I’m able to dress to match!

I rewore a few pieces from last week: the striped sweater, Hobbs dress, and (of course) the jeans on my WFH days. I guess I was feeling sartorially uninspired - and I hadn’t actually managed to put everything away after wearing it all. Whomst amongst us, etc, right?

How many times does it take for a recurring post to become a series? It’s probably more than two, though two - without skipping a week - is definitely a start!
