Workwear IRL: Plaid Dresses

In 2014, when I had my second-ever blog, I was approached by eShakti to review a dress they sent me for free. Jon had moved to the States only a couple of months earlier, and I used the sponsored post as an excuse to get professional family photos taken of us and Charlie:

It was one of the most exciting moments in my blogging career, which says a lot both about what thrills me and the heights my “blogging career” reached. It was also a hugely successful move on eShakti’s part because I’ve since spent hundreds of dollars on dresses from their site.

Anyway, I still have that dress and I still wear it constantly from September through December.

I wear it to the office when I don’t have any external meetings, I wear it while working from home, and I wear it out with the family on weekends (including in my first bump photo when pregnant with Claire). It’s comfy, cozy, and autumnal - the perfect plaid flannel that doesn’t even hint at Christmas. I’m not sure it’s going to last past this season and I’m heartbroken at the thought of having to replace it. If I did, though, I might choose one of these…

UNTUCKit (0-18) / LL Bean (M-XL) / Treasure & Bond (XXS-XXL) / Hatley (XS-XL) / Eddie Bauer (XS-XXL)

If you haven’t ordered from eShakti before and want me to evangelize to you, let me know - I love them, though it’s taking longer than they estimate for the made-to-measure pieces to arrive. Here’s my referral code, which will get you $50 off your first purchase and give me a $25 voucher.
